5 Steps To Looking Like a Star
We see them everywhere, actors, entertainers, models and sports personalities, living their dreams. They are gorgeous and glowing. Yes ,they have professional stylists and make-up artists, and best of all Photoshop, but some of my and undoubtedly your favourite celebrities, male and female, always say other than genetics their good looks can be attributed to good at home care.

So here are a few tips to boost your look and give you maximum star power!!

1. Hydrate! Water nourishes your entire body from the inside, you can use all the oil and moisturizers in the world, but they are no match for the good old benefits of water. It hydrates hair, skin and nails, it reduces some of the need for lip balm and even reduces perspiration odour. But water is so boring and tasteless you say? Try drinking lemonade or tea, there are lots of great fruity teas available to make water consumption fun, and remember tea doesn't have to be hot.

2. Get up and go! Exercise is important for so many reasons other than just getting fit. Exercising gets you breathing better and gets your blood flowing. Blood flow to the brain will help you to think and function better and more efficiently in whatever you want to excel at. It doesn't have to be a hard gym routine or involve any costly equipment or or programmes. Simple things like walking the dog or taking a swim, taking the stairs instead of the elevator or going out and dancing! Just move!!

3. Eat!! This is easy; you don't need Jenny Craig or Weight Watchers. Just make sure you eat at least two balanced meals a day (Balanced =protein, vegetables/fruit, small portion of carbohydrates) - with two reasonable snacks in between. Also try to avoid binging at the end of a day or not eating anything.

4. Purge! Cleanse your body by removing unwanted toxic substances. You can improve the look for your skin by simply using a colon cleanser every three -four months. If you really want to make a drastic turn around in your appearance, you can also considering quitting smoking or drinking alcohol if either of these are habits. Smoking stains teeth and causes the skin to lose its healthy glow and takes on a yellowish-gray cast. The more cigarettes smoked, the worse your skin will look. Alcohol is just as harmful as it worsens acne and depletes the body of vitamin A, an important anti-oxidant.

5. Dream! As our issue this month is about dreams, what better advice can I offer than to literally dream? Try to get at least 6 hours of sleep 3 times a week. I know how important 3 a.m. farming on Facebook may seem, but sleep will benefit you much more in the long run, I promise.

Now that you have all these tips and tricks to looking and feeling better you will soon be on a path to looking like a superstar!

A Dreamy Smokey Look

When you think of a smokey eye the image of black shades and tones accented by silver or white probably comes to mind– not that anything is wrong with this traditional smokey eye but with so many colours to choose from your palette, wouldn’t you like to pump up that sexy smokey eye with a bit of hue? Perhaps, with a bit of blue.
Nowadays’ trends are dictating lots of colour and bright clothing, hair nails and makeup! Blue, it seems, is the new hot colour - very retro and very reminiscent of the 60's and 80's styles coming back into rotation. Blue shadow is flattering on nearly everyone- every skin tone , eye colour and hair shade. This hue has the magical ability to brighten bloodshot eyes and the face in general. However, pulling off blue shadows requires some consideration. Darker skin tones, should wear gold-flecked hues such as aquamarine and lighter complexions such as cobalt and periwinkle.

How to

To start I always advise clients to use a base on their eyelids, it makes the colour stay on eyelids longer and show up even more. To base you can use a little bit of the foundation you normally use dusted lightly with loose powder, or you can buy eye bases like MAC Prep and Prime eyebase or Boots Soothing Calming Eyebase.

Apply colour of your choice with an eyeshadow brush , Q-tip or your finger for more control. Starting at the inner corner of your eye about three quarter ways across eyelid, PAT eyeshadow on, do not rub it. On the last quarter of eyelid use a darker shade of blue, a black or even a dark purple eyeshadow and into the crease of the eyelid.

Directly below the eyebrow add a blend gold brown or copper eye shadow to highlight the brow bone. Use a clean brush/ finger or Q-tip to blend all three colours.

Apply liquid eyeliner. In one swift sweeping motion or several small sweeps apply liquid liner above lashlineeneding withe a little flick at the outer corner of the eye. And follow with black like on the bottom lash and water line.OR you can go all out and use blue eyeliner as well and blue mascara.

For drama you can also add a few short individual false eyelashes.

End with a nude or red lip.
